Farewell to Bubble-Hearth

As I'm pretty much all of you might have guessed, I completely stopped blogging for the past year.

Work, life and warcraft all got in the way, but recently, I've been itching to start blogging again. But this time, I won't be coming back to bubble-hearth. I've set up a new blog for a fresh start (a kind of blog re-roll), at /Blame Roll, and will be co-writing it with my partner (and guildie). ;-)

Anyone interested can find it at http://blameroll.blogspot.com

Its been fun writing here, but I've not been able to get myself back into writing under this blog, even though I couldn't officially bring myself to close it down either. Partially because I haven't been playing my pally much, and I kinda feel the need to write about pally-related stuff, it being called bubble-hearth n all...!

So, onward to newer projects. It's time to stop hovering over the res button on this one... :)

who needs a healer, eh?

I brought Egeria (ooo..frosty!!) through her very first instance there recently.. she's now level 45 (and not too far off 46!), so i plucked up the courage to join a pug to Zul'Farrak. I'm pretty sure I've spelled that wrong.. i've tried a few times, but it just never looks right. Ah well.

I honestly didn't think it would work as a group at all.. but.. I couldn't believe my eyes when it actually did. We were two mages, two hunters, and a druid tank. No healer, and nothing more than my Gift of the Naaru was used during fights. We had plenty of crowd control, which was a real help.

We got the first two bosses down without a sweat, but the third guy (the ugly troll / undead guy) was a bit nails with no healer. So at that point, to avoid the frustration, i just popped on Inara and brought them through the rest of the way. I gotta say, popping retribution aura and consecration at the top of those steps - it never, ever gets old. I love that fight :)

Speaking of consecration - I've discovered that consecration +the sunwell dailies in Hellfire penninsula = Big Bloody Mess. The hunters and mages of our server take a lot of joy out of pulling Doom Lord Kazzak over your haphazard AOE, and feigning death / ice blocking. Leaving you looking into the eyes of one really big, ugly (and pretty pissed off) demon.

I think CRUNCH best sums up what happens next. or maybe.. SQUISH!

Nothing to do with WoW.. but..

... This was freaking cool!!!

http://www.sirlancelot.hu/

Recently went on holidays (thats on vacation to you American folks ;) ) to Budapest, and we ate here.. it was sooo awesome! I'm saying absolutely nothing more but.. Beer, Food, and Swordfights.. it's all good!!!

As for Budapest itself.. what a beautiful city, and really genuinely friendly people. Had a great time there, and would recommend it to anyone! If you do happen to be visiting sometime, pay a visit to the thermal baths (we went to the ones by Heroes Square) - its well worth it!

And yes.. I admit.. we took photos of ourselves by Heroes Square thinking of WoW - I found a statue thats like the epitome of a Paladin, and I couldn't resist :)

Woeful Neglect!!

Almost 2 months since my last post..! I have to say, I feel ashamed of myself :-)

Well, I guess Christmas is just like that.. busy-busy for a whole month with shopping and parties and stuff.. First Christmas in our new house this year, so we had to buy a tree and everything!! The odd thing is, now that we have a tree, and Christmas is over.. we don't have anywhere to store it, cus it won't fit in our attic :S
My hunter's suggestion was to decorate it for easter.. but he might be just after the chocolate! :D

As for playing wow, I've become a very casual player indeed, though I'm back to playing a mix of Inara and my mage alt again. My eyes popped when I saw the +damage that got added for Ina in the last patch.. it really made me smile.. and run to respec! Inara is now a shockadin (scary stuff eh?!), and its great fun!! Its like a huge relief to me - seeing as i levelled holy the whole way - to actually see her make decent dents in a mobs health!
I got so addicted to seeing big numbers.. and it was absolutely hilarious helping my hunter level his pally alt in the plaguelands. We'd run around grabbing every single undead in an entire field, then consecrate, and I'd unleash a Holy Wrath and watch all the un-dead flop down very-dead in a big circle around me.
Honestly.. its like a hero rising from the ashes in a zombie b-movie - If you haven't gone and done it for fun, I'd suggest giving it a go, for sheer giggle-factor!!

As for my little mage.. she's getting there slowly! Not far off 30 now, and jewelcrafting like crazy. I can't believe how expensive jewelcrafting is - its like - if I didnt have Inara fishing and doing the battleground daily, i'd probably still be under 50 skill points. It works out very well for my hunter's mage (lol, that sounds so wierd!) - she's an enchanter so she disenchants all of Egeria's jewelry. Hmm. Methinks there was a plan set in place with that one... :p
At least, I wont be levelling fishing and cooking again. I promised myself that much for Egeria - levelling fishing to 375 nearly killed me with Inara - she went from 0 to 375 in three weeks, during our first month or two of raiding. There is nothing so heartbreakingly boring as trying to level fishing quickly!!!!!

Anyways, its pretty late here, and I'm done selling my wares in the AH for tonight.. time for bed!

'night folks..

Road Trip (a month late)

Heehee.. well, i found this in my draft folder, it was supposed to be finished and posted sometime in November, so I'll add it up here now for porterity's sake, in its short , unfinished glory ;-)
P.S. Just posted it, and realised its posted under the date it was first written. How handy is that?!
______________________________

Just arrived back from a trip to finally meet the other (ex-)officers and the (ex-)GM of Eclipse.. the trip was well worthwhile, and so much fun!!
Much much alcohol was drank, and we got to play the WoW board game aswell. All I can say bout the game is.. paladins are imba!!! Imba I say!! Its a fantastic game.. I'm almost tempted to go get it, but I don't think we know any other WoW players around here to play it with.
I have to confess though - I wound up falling asleep about 3am or so... I'm blaming the soothing music behind an anime movie that was on tv at the time to save ego..! It was really funny actually.. don't think any of us were watching that movie intently, but every now and again we'd point and say something like "ohnoes i'm being ganked" to t everyone off laughing.
I'm desperately trying to convince my hunter to let me put the christmas tree up. I like christmas decorations... they're just so cheerful and pretty. And we got a bunch of unbelieveably gaudy decorations so i'm looking forward to seeing it all done up!! :D
